The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas
  for...
  Southern Hidalgo County in Deep South Texas...

* Until 530 PM CDT

* At 331 PM CDT, National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
  heavy rain due to thunderstorms moving from east to west from 15
  to 20 mph occurring over southern Hidalgo County. These
  thunderstorms will cause urban and small stream flooding of low
  lying areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor
  flooding in the advisory area. From one to two inches of rain have
  already fallen over the past hour.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Mission, Pharr, Weslaco, San Juan, Alamo, Donna, Mercedes, Hidalgo,
  Progreso and Palmview.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
