FLOOD STATEMENT

For the Lower Humboldt, including Battle Mountain...Comus...
Golconda...and Winnemucca, moderate flooding is occurring
and is expected to continue.

A flood warning remains in effect for minor to moderate
flooding. The river will gradually drop around Battle
Mountain and there are multiple flood waves making their way
downstream.

Flooding will remain a problem for several more days as the
Humboldt River channel is extremely flat in the lower reach.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Humboldt River At Battle Mountain.
* until further notice.
* At  8:15 PM Sunday the stage was 10.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Minor to moderate flooding is occurring and is forecast to
  continue.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fluctuate up and down
  for the next few days.
* Impact...at 10.5 feet...Moderate lowland flooding throughout reach,
  with a number of rural roads impassable. No homes or basements
  flooded. Livestock stranding and miring begins to be a problem.
  3400 cfs, about a 5 year flood, 20 percent chance any year.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Humboldt River At Comus.
* until further notice.
* At  8:15 PM Sunday the stage was 10.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will remain near 10.8 feet
* Impact...at 11.0 feet...Moderate to major lowland flooding
  throughout reach. Many rural roads near river flooded. Minor to
  moderate flooding in lower portions of winnemucca. Main area
  impacted is between uprr and Golconda street on west and second
  street on the east, beneath i80. 3800 cfs, about a 14 year flood, 7
  percent chance any year. Similar to floods of june 1921 and April
  1969.
