FLOOD STATEMENT

For the Lower Humboldt, including Battle Mountain and Comus,
Moderate flooding is occurring and is expected to continue.
For the Lower Humboldt, including Palisade, Minor flooding
is occurring and is expected to continue.

Water continues to slowly migrate west across the Humboldt River.
Look for the river heights at these locations to remain steady
or slowly decrease.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Humboldt River At Palisade.
* until Tuesday afternoon.
* At  1:00 PM Sunday the stage was 7.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Tuesday morning.
* Impact...at 7.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding begins between Carlin
  and Battle Mountains. This is about 3650 cfs.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Humboldt River At Battle Mountain.
* until further notice.
* At 12:15 PM Sunday the stage was 10.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Impact...at 10.5 feet...Moderate lowland flooding throughout reach,
  with a number of rural roads impassable. No homes or basements
  flooded. Livestock stranding and miring begins to be a problem.
  3400 cfs, about a 5 year flood, 20 percent chance any year.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Humboldt River At Comus.
* until further notice.
* At 12:15 PM Sunday the stage was 11.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 11.1 feet by late
  this afternoon. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact...at 11.0 feet...Moderate to major lowland flooding
  throughout reach. Many rural roads near river flooded. Minor to
  moderate flooding in lower portions of Winnemucca. Main area
  impacted is between uprr and golconda street on west and second
  street on the east, beneath i80. 3800 cfs, about a 14 year flood, 7
  percent chance any year. Similar to floods of june 1921 and april
  1969.
