FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
253 PM EDT FRI MAY 29 2015

.DISCUSSION...HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED WELL TO THE NORTH AND EAST
WILL RESTRENGTHEN ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH SATURDAY. WITH LIMITED
ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE AND A MORE STABLE ENVIRONMENT...LITTLE OR NO
SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED. ONE POSSIBLE TRIGGER
IS THE INCOMING LATE-DAY SEA BREEZE...GIVING AREAS TO THE EAST OF
A LINE FROM AUGUSTA TO COLUMBIA AND CHESTERFIELD A SLIGHTLY BETTER
CHANCE FOR HAVING A THUNDERSTORM.

A PERSISTENT WEAK PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL ONCE AGAIN PROVIDE POOR
DISPERSION TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING. PATCHY EARLY MORNING FOG
IS POSSIBLE IN LOW-LYING LOCATIONS NEAR RIVER VALLEYS.

WINDS WILL BE SOUTHEAST SATURDAY...WITH SPEEDS OF 5 TO 10 MPH BY
AFTERNOON NEAR THE SURFACE. IN THE MIXING LAYER...SPEEDS OF AROUND
10 MPH IN THE MORNING WILL INCREASE TO 10 TO 15 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.
MINUMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL RANGE FROM 40 TO 45 PERCENT.
