Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
224 PM EST Thu Feb 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Warm and dry conditions expected on Friday with an upper ridge over
the area. High temperatures on Friday will be near record highs in
the lower 80s. A general east southeast surface wind is expected at
less than 10 mph with no chance of rain. Areas of fog are possible
Friday morning but should dissipate with mixing once the inversion
breaks by 10 am. Fog does not appear as likely Saturday morning due
to a strong low level jet ahead of an approaching front.

A cold front will cross the region on Saturday bringing a very
isolated chance of rain with little if any precipitation due to
limited moisture with the front. RH values will fall to around 30
percent behind the front with some gusty west winds 20 to 25 mph
which may support increased fire danger.
