Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama

.DISCUSSION...

Cool and dry conditions are expected through the forecast period.
Today, west to northwesterly winds will be breezy around 10 mph
with gusts up to 20 mph, but transport winds will be slightly
higher 20-25 mph. In return, mixing heights are over 9,000 ft and
dispersions will be very good. On Wednesday, winds will slack,
causing mixing heights to fall to 4-5,000 ft, but dispersions will
still be good. Next chance of rain returns Friday into Saturday
as a cold front approaches the area.

Fog potential over the next few days: There is areas of fog,
some dense areas, occurring near rivers and in the valleys
especially in Northeast Alabama this morning. The fog will lift
by sunrise.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
