Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
218 PM PDT Mon Sep 25 2017

...Poor to moderate humidity recovery in the Cascades Wednesday
night...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...A weak warm front brushes the north part
of the forecast area today, bringing a chance for some very light
rain through tonight. A ridge of high pressure aloft strengthens
Tuesday for the start of a warmer and much drier pattern lasting
through most of the rest of the week. Offshore flow Wednesday into
early Thursday will bring breezy conditions, especially through
the Gorge and over the Cascade and Coast Range ridgetops. In
addition, the Cascades will see moderate to poor nighttime
humidity recovery Wednesday night.

.DISCUSSION...A weak warm front will push into Washington and
northern Oregon, bringing a chance for some very light rain
through tonight. A ridge of high pressure aloft strengthens
Tuesday for the start of a warmer and much drier pattern lasting
through most of the rest of the week. Surface offshore flow
strengthens Wednesday as the thermal trough expands north along
the coast. Expect breezy offshore wind starting late Tuesday and
extending through early Thursday, especially through the Gorge
and across the ridgetops of the Coast Range and Cascades. In
addition, the Cascades will see moderate to poor nighttime
humidity recovery Wednesday night with relative humidity values
only increasing to 45% to 50% near ridgetops. A weak system moves
across the region Friday with a good chance of some rain, but only
a moderate chance of wetting rain. Flow turns back onshore with
Friday`s system, bringing humidity relief, but also increasing
winds.
