FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST VIRGINIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
1241 PM EST SUN DEC 28 2014

.DISCUSSION...
A COLD FRONT ENTERS SOUTHEAST OHIO...MOVES ACROSS WEST VIRGINIA
TODAY...AND BRIEFLY STALLS ALONG THE EASTERN MOUNTAINS THIS
AFTERNOON. RAIN SHOWERS ARE LIKELY WITH THIS FRONT THROUGH AT LEAST
TONIGHT. MOST PLACES ARE LIKELY TO SEE A HALF AN INCH OF RAIN OR
MORE FROM THIS SYSTEM LATER THROUGH TONIGHT.

THE FRONT WILL THEN SLIDE SOUTHWARD INTO THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS
BEFORE STALLING AGAIN ON MONDAY. THE MIDDLE OHIO VALLEY WILL DRY
OUT FROM WEST TO EAST...OTHER THAN WHERE PRECIPITATION IS LIKELY TO
LINGER OVER THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS INTO MONDAY NIGHT. A WINTRY
MIX OF PRECIPITATION IS POSSIBLE. COLDER...DRIER AIR WILL BEGIN TO
FILTER INTO THE AREA ON TUESDAY.

INCOMING HIGH PRESSURE WILL BRING COOLER...MORE SEASONABLE
TEMPERATURES AS WE RING IN THE NEW YEAR.
