Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
324 PM EST Thu Feb 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Weak high pressure will remain off the Mid-Atlantic coast through
tonight, producing areas of patchy fog later tonight. While
temperatures will be well above normal Friday, relatively high
dewpoints will keep relative humidities on the higher side (40 to
50 percent). Showers and possible thunderstorms will be possible
later Friday evening and into Saturday. The coverage of
thunderstorms would be more scattered. Thus, fire weather concerns
would be low through Saturday.

The cold front moves across the forecast area later Saturday
evening and into Sunday. Fire weather concerns then begin to
increase somewhat Sunday with RH values in the 25 to 30 percent
range along with breezy to gusty northwest winds.
