...DISCUSSION FROM RNOFWFVEF...

TEMPERATURES OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND WILL EDGE CLOSER TO NORMAL FOR
LATE MAY WITH A CHANCE OF AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS
PRIMARILY OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF THE SOUTHERN GREAT BASIN AND
MOJAVE DESERT. ELSEWHERE, MOSTLY SUNNY TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES ARE
EXPECTED. ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL DEVELOP BY THE MIDDLE OF
NEXT WEEK WITH THE FIRST BOUT OF WIDESPREAD TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT ACROSS
THE MOJAVE DESERT.

...DISCUSSION FROM LAXFWFSGX...

A WEAK TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE EXTENDING SOUTHWESTWARD FROM SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA WILL MOVE INTO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND STRENGTHEN
SLIGHTLY DURING THE WEEKEND...THEN MOVES EAST ON MONDAY WITH HIGH
PRESSURE ALOFT STRENGTHENING OVER CALIFORNIA NEXT WEEK. SEASONAL
WEATHER WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEKEND FOR COASTAL AREAS. MID
LEVEL MOISTURE WILL BRING SOME CLOUDS TO THE MOUNTAINS THIS
AFTERNOON...A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS SATURDAY AFTERNOON...AND A
SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY AFTERNOON. WARMING TO NEAR
AVERAGE FOR INLAND AREAS ON MONDAY AND ABOVE AVERAGE EXCEPT NEAR THE
COAST FOR THE REST OF NEXT WEEK. THE MARINE LAYER AND ONSHORE FLOW
WILL CONTINUE THE SEASONAL HIGHER HUMIDITIES FOR COASTAL AND VALLEY
AREAS.

...DISCUSSION FROM PHXFWFPSR...

WARM AND DRY AIR ACROSS THE REGION ON SATURDAY AHEAD OF A DRY LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM APPROACHING IN FROM THE WEST WILL SUPPORT THE
CURRENT WARMING TREND WITH HIGHS REACHING INTO THE MID 90S. MINIMUM
DAYTIME HUMIDITIES WILL ALSO DECLINE TO THE 9 TO 12 PERCENT RANGE BY
SUNDAY. WINDS WILL FAVOR NORMAL EARLY SUMMER PATTERNS WITH
OCCASIONAL GUSTINESS IN THE AFTERNOON.
