...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PST THIS
AFTERNOON...

* AFFECTED AREA...Portions of southeast California and the Lower
  Colorado River Valley, with a focus on locations north and
  along the Chocolate Mountains and the Algodones Sand Dunes.
  This includes the Interstate 10 corridor and parts of Joshua
  Tree National Park.

* TIMING...Today from mid-morning to late afternoon.

* WINDS...North 25 to 35 MPH with gusts to 45 MPH.

* IMPACTS...Strong cross winds will make driving difficult...
  especially for high profile vehicles on east-west oriented
  roads. Use extra caution. Blowing dust is also possible,
  reducing visibilities.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of between
30 and 40 mph are expected, or wind gusts of between 40 and
58 mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially
for high profile vehicles. In addition, strong winds over desert
areas could result in briefly lowered visibilities to well under
a mile at times in blowing dust or blowing sand. Use extra
caution.
