...NWS Damage Survey For Denton Airport Microburst Event...

.Overview...A complex of thunderstorms developed over southwestern
Oklahoma during the evening of May 22nd, and moved into portions of
North Texas after midnight. These thunderstorms produced several
areas of hail less than one inch in diameter, but enough to produce
an accumulation of small hail. Some thunderstorm damage was noted in
portions of Montague, Wise, and Denton Counties early this morning.
Damage in Montague and Wise Counties will be investigated tomorrow,
but a crew surveyed a swath of damage at and near Denton Municipal

Summary: Approximately 15 airplanes were damaged, with some airplanes
flipped over, tossed, or blown into each other. Several hangars
were damaged as well, along with fencing, and roof and awning
damage on airport property.
