...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JUNEAU HAS CANCELLED THE WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY.

SNOWFALL INTENSITY HAS LIGHTENED IN GUSTAVUS AS THE MAIN SNOW
BANDS HAVE MOVED FARTHER NORTH. IN ADDITION...SOME RAIN HAS BEGUN TO
MIX IN FROM THE SOUTH. THE SNOW WILL CHANGEOVER TO MAINLY RAIN
THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY. GUSTAVUS RECEIVED AT LEAST 6.6 INCHES OF
SNOW SINCE LAST NIGHT.

THIS WILL BE THE FINAL STATEMENT ON THIS EVENT.

AKST THURSDAY.

* TIMING...PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW WILL CONTINUE OVERNIGHT INTO
  THURSDAY MORNING.

* SNOW...6 INCHES HAS BEEN MEASURED AS OF 730 PM WEDNESDAY EVENING
  IN DOWNTOWN HAINES. STORM TOTAL ACCUMULATION OF 9 TO 13 INCHES
  IS EXPECTED.

* MAIN IMPACT...ACCUMULATING WET SNOW WILL MAKE SNOW REMOVAL AND
  DRIVING DIFFICULT.

* OTHER IMPACTS...PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES
  BELOW 1 MILE AT TIMES. DRIVING WILL BE HAZARDOUS.

A WARNING MEANS THAT A WINTER STORM IS ALREADY OCCURRING OR

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW REMAINS IN
EFFECT UNTIL NOON AKST THURSDAY.

* TIMING...THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING

* SNOW...1 INCH HAS FALLEN IN SKAGWAY SO FAR THIS EVENING BUT SNOW
  HAS INTENSIFIED SINCE THEN. STORM TOTAL ACCUMULATION OF 5 TO 9
  INCHES IS EXPECTED. SIGNIFICANT DRIFTING OF SNOW WILL OCCUR.

* MAIN IMPACT...SIGNIFICANT DRIFTING OF SNOW DUE TO STRONG WINDS
  WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH WILL IMPACT ROAD TRAVEL. BLOWING SNOW WILL
  REDUCE VISIBILITY TO LESS THAN 1 MILE AT TIMES.

* OTHER IMPACTS...AS TEMPERATURES WARM THURSDAY...SNOW WILL BECOME
  WETTER AND HEAVIER AND WILL MAKE SNOW REMOVAL DIFFICULT.
