...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST FRIDAY...

* LOCATIONS...NORTHERN ONEIDA COUNTY.

* ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 12 INCHES WITH
  THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL EXPECTED CLOSE TO THE LEWIS AND OSWEGO COUNTY
  BORDERS.

* TIMING...SOME SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON, BUT THE
  PRIMARY LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND WILL NOT MOVE INTO THE REGION
  UNTIL EARLY EVENING. SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR
  ARE POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT. THE BAND WILL SHIFT SOUTH OF THE REGION
  FRIDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS WILL LEAD TO
  CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW ALONG WITH WHITEOUT
  CONDITIONS AT TIMES. THIS WILL RESULT IN VERY DANGEROUS TRAVEL.

* WINDS...WEST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 20S.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF LAKE-
EFFECT SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR
IMPOSSIBLE. LAKE-EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES
IN BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP 1 TO SEVERAL
INCHES OF SNOW PER HOUR FOR SEVERAL HOURS. VISIBILITIES VARY
GREATLY AND CAN DROP TO ZERO WITHIN MINUTES. TRAVEL IS STRONGLY
DISCOURAGED. COMMERCE COULD BE SEVERELY IMPACTED. IF YOU MUST
TRAVEL... KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT... FOOD... AND WATER IN YOUR

EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING
TO 7 AM EST SATURDAY. THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW WATCH IS NO LONGER IN
EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS...SOUTHERN ONEIDA...SOUTHERN CAYUGA...ONONDAGA...AND
  MADISON COUNTIES.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 4 TO 8 INCHES, WITH MUCH OF
  THE SNOWFALL OCCURRING FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT. THE HIGHER
  TERRAIN IN SOUTHERN ONONDAGA AND SOUTHERN MADISON COUNTIES WILL
  SEE THE MOST SNOWFALL.

* TIMING...SOME SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED THIS EVENING, BUT THE
  MORE PERSISTENT AND HEAVIER LAKE EFFECT SNOW BANDS WILL SHIFT
  INTO THE REGION FRIDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE FRIDAY NIGHT BEFORE
  TAPERING OFF ON SATURDAY.

* IMPACTS...LAKE EFFECT SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS WILL LEAD TO
