Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
354 AM CDT Fri May 3 2024

.DISCUSSION...Patchy dense fog is possible in the southeast this
morning and again Saturday morning. Elsewhere, only patchy light
fog is expected. There were a few storms over the northeast early
this morning but scattered to numerous coverage of storms is
expected today as an upper level disturbance combines with our
moist airmass and daytime heating. The convection will leave a
weak boundary across the area and that will remain the focus for
rain chances mainly across the northern half of the area through
Saturday before a stalling cold front drops into the region Sunday.
This will prolong rain chances across the north into Monday. Dry
weather is expected Tuesday and Wednesday. Warmer than normal
temperatures are expected through Wednesday.
