THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF EAST CENTRAL KENTUCKY...
  NORTHEAST KENTUCKY...SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY AND SOUTHEAST
  KENTUCKY...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN EAST CENTRAL
  KENTUCKY...BATH...ELLIOTT...ESTILL...FLEMING...MENIFEE...
  MONTGOMERY...POWELL AND ROWAN. IN NORTHEAST KENTUCKY...JOHNSON
  AND MARTIN. IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY...LAUREL...MCCREARY...

* FROM 2 AM EDT THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.

* A STATIONARY FRONT OVER THE REGION WILL KEEP A PERSISTENT THREAT
  FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN OUR FORECAST. A WAVE OF LOW
  PRESSURE WILL MOVE ALONG THIS FRONT BRINGING A THREAT FOR HEAVY
  RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING BEGINNING LATE TONIGHT AND
  CONTINUING THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT WITH 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL
  PREDICTED.

* RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
  CREEKS AND STREAMS AS WELL AS POOR DRAINING AREAS WHERE
  THUNDERSTORMS PASS REPEATEDLY OVER THE SAME LOCATION.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
