...THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
430 PM EDT FOR NORTHEASTERN LETCHER...SOUTHEASTERN FLOYD AND PIKE
COUNTIES...

At 320 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. Between one and two inches of rain has already
fallen over portions of the area. Additional rainfall of around one
half inch is expected, with locally higher amounts possible.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pikeville, Elkhorn City, Wheelwright, Forest Hills, Huddy, Meta,
Jamboree, Fishtrap Lake, Garden Village, Beefhide, Toonerville,
Dorton, Buckhorn Hollow, Woodman, Biggs, Rockhouse, Adamson, Ligon,
Burdine and Sidney.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
