FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EASTERN KENTUCKY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON KY
527 AM EDT TUE JUL 8 2014

.DISCUSSION...

A COLD FRONT WILL CROSS THE OHIO VALLEY AND INTO THE CENTRAL
APPALACHIANS TODAY AND TONIGHT. AHEAD OF THIS FRONT...A
WARM...MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD ACROSS
EAST KENTUCKY. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY DEVELOP THIS
AFTERNOON AND TRACK ACROSS EASTERN KENTUCKY AHEAD OF THE
ADVANCING COLD FRONT. THERE IS AN ENHANCED POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS DURING THIS PERIOD WITH DAMAGING WINDS THE PRIMARY
THREAT. THE STRONGEST STORMS COULD PRODUCE SOME LARGE HAIL. THE
THREAT FOR DAMAGING WINDS AND HAIL WILL COME TO AN END BY LATE
EVENING. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND
LIGHTNING WILL ACCOMPANY ANY THUNDERSTORM THROUGH TONIGHT.
ISOLATED FLASH FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS ANY LOCATIONS
THAT RECEIVE MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAIN.
