FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EAST KENTUCKY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON KY
559 AM EDT SUN AUG 28 2016

.DISCUSSION...AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE MID
ATLANTIC STATES WILL BRING CONTINUED HOT WEATHER TO OUR AREA TO
FINISH THE WEEKEND. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE
EXPECTED TO BOIL UP IN THE HUMID CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON. AS THE
UPPER LEVEL RIDGE WEAKENS...A COOLER AND DRIER AIR MASS IS FORECAST
TO MOVE EAST SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES AND NEW ENGLAND. IT
WILL JUST GRAZE OUR AREA...BUT SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO PUT A LIMIT
ON THE EXTENT OF SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT. A MORE
SIGNIFICANT PUSH OF DRIER AND SOMEWHAT COOLER AIR IS EXPECTED TO
ARRIVE LATE IN THE WEEK.
