FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EAST KENTUCKY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON KY
631 AM EST TUE DEC 6 2016

.DISCUSSION...THE CENTER OF SURFACE LOW PRESSURE PASS ACROSS
EASTERN KY DURING THE DAY TODAY. THIS HAS ALREADY RESULTED IN RAIN
ACROSS THE REGION THIS MORNING. THIS RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
THROUGHOUT THE DAY, BRINGING GENERALLY BETWEEN 0.50 TO 1.00 INCHES
OF TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS ACROSS EASTERN KY. DRY AIR WILL QUICKLY
ENTRAIN INTO THE MID AND UPPER LEVELS AS THE LOW STARTS MOVING
EAST OF THE REGION THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT. HOWEVER, A STRONG
LOW LEVEL INVERSION WILL KEEP A DECENT AMOUNT OF MOISTURE TRAPPED
NEAR THE SURFACE. THIS WILL LIKELY RESULT IN LOW CLOUDS AND
DRIZZLE THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE NIGHT. HIGH PRESSURE AND MUCH
DRIER CONDITIONS WILL BEGIN TO TAKE HOLD BRIEFLY FOR WEDNESDAY.
