Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
527 AM EST Sat Dec 9 2017

.DISCUSSION...Cold and dry conditions will continue across eastern
Kentucky through out the morning. These conditions will change,
however, by early this afternoon, as an area of low pressures moves
in from the north. Scattered light snow showers will break out in
association with this weather system with very light snow accumulations
possible. The snow will last through this evening, and should come to an
end late tonight. Winds will shift to the west as the upper low passes
across the region, with sustained values of 10 to 15 mph possible, along
with gusts of up to 20 mph. Minimum humidity values will vary from 33 to
39 percent in some locations to between 40 and 45 percent in our far
western counties. Increasing low level moisture should be enough to
counter act the affect of the lower humidities and fairly strong winds
in regards to any fire danger today.
