.AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE TRACKING FROM THE PLAINS TO THE GREAT
LAKES WILL SEND A POTENT COLD FRONT ACROSS THE COMMONWEALTH FROM
TUESDAY EVENING INTO EARLY ON WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE PRESSURE
GRADIENT BETWEEN THIS APPROACHING SYSTEM AND HIGH PRESSURE
DEPARTING TO THE NORTHEAST WILL LEAD TO GUSTY WINDS DEVELOPING
ALONG AND IN ADVANCE OF THIS FRONT. PEAK WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 45
MPH ARE EXPECTED IN MANY LOCATIONS. LOCALIZED GUSTS UP TO 55 MPH
WILL BE POSSIBLE ABOVE 2500 FEET NEAR THE VA BORDER.
