BOTH JACKSON AND LONDON SAW RECORD PRECIPITATION FOR OCTOBER 2014.
THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE WAS FOUR AND A HALF INCHES ABOVE
NORMAL...WHILE THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT WAS A WHOOPING FIVE AND A
THIRD INCHES WETTER. BOTH LOCATIONS SAW OCTOBER 2014 BECOME THEIR
WETTEST OCTOBERS EVER. ON THE TEMPERATURE SIDE OF THE
FENCE...JACKSON AND LONDON WERE ON DIFFERENT SIDES OF NORMAL. THE
JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE WAS OVER A DEGREE BELOW NORMAL...WHILE THE
LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT WAS NEARLY A DEGREE WARMER. ALSO OF NOTE...THE
FIRST SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON OCCURRED ON HALLOWEEN.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE NEAR JACKSON FINISHED OCTOBER
2014 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 56.9 DEGREES...WHICH IS 1.2
DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 58.1 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH WAS
65.5 DEGREES...AND THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW WAS 48.3 DEGREES. THE
HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR OCTOBER WAS 83 DEGREES AND OCCURRED ON THE
2ND. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE FROM LAST MONTH WAS 35 DEGREES ON THE
31ST. NO MAXIMUM OR MINIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET OR TIED
LAST MONTH. A MINIMUM HIGH RECORD OF 50 DEGREES WAS SET ON THE 22ND.

THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE RECEIVED 7.77 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION IN
OCTOBER 2014...WHICH IS 4.58 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS BESTED THE

GREATEST DAILY AMOUNT FOR OCTOBER...AND ALSO SET PRECIPITATION
RECORDS FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE DAYS. THE GREATEST AMOUNT OF

THAT THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE HAS SEEN OCTOBER SNOW SINCE 1981.

THUNDER WAS HEARD ON THREE DAYS AT THE JACKSON WEATHER
OFFICE...WHICH IS ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 1.3 DAYS FOR OCTOBER. THERE
WERE 19 DAYS WITH FOG...SIX OF WHICH FEATURED DENSE FOG. OCTOBER
NORMALLY AVERAGES 4.3 DAYS OF DENSE FOG. THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED FOR
OCTOBER WAS 2.8 MPH...AND THE HIGHEST WIND GUST OF 32 MPH WAS
RECORDED ON OCTOBER 31ST. THE MEAN WIND SPEED FOR OCTOBER IS
TYPICALLY 4.7 MPH.
