A BOUT OF SEVERE WEATHER DURING THE MIDDLE OF JUNE CREATED SOME LOSS
OF DATA AT BOTH JACKSON AND LONDON LAST MONTH. A PEAK WIND GUST AS A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ROLLED THROUGH WAS NOT RECORDED AT JACKSON DUE
TO A WIND SENSOR MALFUNCTION. A POWER OUTAGE AT THE LONDON CORBIN
AIRPORT CREATED MISSING WEATHER DATA FOR MUCH OF JUNE 10TH AND 11TH.
LONDON/S TOTALS AND AVERAGES ARE BASED ON 28 DAYS.

MUCH WARMER AND MUCH DRIER THAN NORMAL CONDITIONS EXISTED AT BOTH
JACKSON AND LONDON FOR JUNE 2014. THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE AND
LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT SAW TEMPERATURES ABOVE NORMAL FOR JUNE. BOTH
JACKSON AND LONDON WERE TWO DEGREES WARMER. IN FACT...JACKSON
EXPERIENCED ITS FOURTH WARMEST JUNE. BOTH JACKSON AND LONDON
FINISHED LAST MONTH WELL BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATIONWISE...OVER AN
INCH AND A HALF AT BOTH LOCATIONS. ALSO OF NOTE...IT WAS THE NINTH
DRIEST JUNE AT THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE NEAR JACKSON FINISHED JUNE
2014 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 74.3 DEGREES...WHICH IS 2.3
DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 72.0 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH WAS
84.0 DEGREES...AND THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW WAS 64.7 DEGREES. JUNE 2014
WAS THE FOURTH WARMEST JUNE. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE WAS 91
DEGREES...AND OCCURRED ON THE 17TH...18TH AND 19TH. THERE WERE TWO
DAILY HIGH RECORDS TIED LAST MONTH...90 DEGREES ON THE 16TH AND 91
DEGREES ON THE 17TH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE FROM JUNE 2014 WAS 55

HIGHER GUST. THE MEAN WIND SPEED FOR JUNE IS TYPICALLY 4.1 MPH.

KNOCKED OUT THE POWER SUPPLY TO THE AIRPORT/S AUTOMATED SURFACE
OBSERVING SYSTEM. THE POWER WAS NOT RESTORED UNTIL JUNE 11TH. SOME
DATA FOR JUNE 10TH AND 11TH WAS LOST...MAKING MONTHLY TOTALS FOR THE
PRECIPITATION AND COOLING DEGREE DAYS...AS WELL AS THE AVERAGE FOR
THE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE UNAVAILABLE. WITH THAT IN MIND...HERE IS THE
LONDON CLIMATE FOR JUNE USING THE DATA FOR OTHER 28 DAYS AS WELL AS
THE HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 87 DEGREES FROM JUNE 10TH.
