...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 05/24/2017 THUNDERSTORM WIND EVENT...

A storm damage survey was conducted by the National Weather
Service in Jackson, Kentucky with the assistance of Rowan County
Emergency Management. The results of the survey indicated
microburst straight line wind damage consistent with wind speeds
of between 60 and 70 mph in a residential area of Clearfield,
Kentucky, or about 2 miles southeast of the city of Morehead in
Rowan County.

SURVEY_SUMMARY: High winds felled between 15 and 20 trees of
various sizes, consisting mostly of pine trees. There was damage
to a truck and to the roof of a home. There was also damage to a
few above ground swimming pools.
