MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES AND COOL CONDITIONS WERE PRESENT THROUGHOUT THE
COAL FIELDS THIS MORNING. 7 AM TEMPERATURES VARIED FROM THE UPPER

ALSO...FOGGY CONDITIONS WERE AROUND THIS MORNING AS WELL...WITH
MANY SHELTERED LOCATIONS HAVING VISIBILITIES OF A HALF MILE OR

SUNSHINE ON TAP FOR THE REST OF THE MORNING. THE MERCURY WAS
HAVING A HARD TIME RECOVERING FROM THE UNSEASONABLE LOW
TEMPERATURES...AND WAS ONLY IN THE 60S TO AROUND 70 DEGREES AT
NOONTIME.

IT WAS ONCE AGAIN A PLEASANT AFTERNOON THROUGHOUT EASTERN
KENTUCKY. UNDER PARTLY TO MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES...MID AFTERNOON

HIGHS FOR LATE AUGUST ARE IN THE MIDDLE 80S.

LOWS TONIGHT WILL RETURN TO THE 50S ONCE AGAIN. READINGS WILL WARM
UP TO NEAR SEASONAL VALUES ON FRIDAY...WITH HIGHS IN THE LOWER TO
MIDDLE 80S EXPECTED ACROSS THE AREA. MORE HUMID CONDITIONS WILL
RETURN TO THE AREA ON SATURDAY ALONG WITH OUR FIRST RAIN CHANCES
IN QUITE SOME TIME. THE MUGGY WEATHER WILL CONTINUE THROUGH NEXT
WEDNESDAY...WITH AT LEAST SMALL CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS REMAINING IN THE FORECAST EACH AFTERNOON AND
EVENING.

ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...IN 2008...COOL AND PLEASANT
CONDITIONS KEPT HIGH TEMPERATURES 10-15 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. IN
FACT...THE JACKSON AIRPORT SET A MINIMUM HIGH RECORD TEMPERATURE
OF 71 DEGREES FOR THE SECOND DAY IN A ROW. THIS IS VERY SIMILAR TO
CONDITIONS THIS YEAR WITH THE TWO LOW TEMPERATURES RECORDS THE
LAST TWO DAYS AT JACKSON.
