...SOME LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY
NIGHT MAINLY OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS...

A FAST MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE ITS EASTWARD TRACK
THROUGH EASTERN KENTUCKY OVERNIGHT. RAIN WILL MIX WITH AND CHANGE TO
SNOW FIRST OVER THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS ABOVE 3000 FEET LATE
TONIGHT. SNOW LEVELS WILL THEN GRADUALLY DESCEND TO THE VALLEYS
THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...AND BEGIN SPREADING IN FROM WEST TO EAST
ACROSS EASTERN KENTUCKY DURING THE DAY MONDAY. SOME SLICK SPOTS
POSSIBLE FOR THE EARLY MORNING COMMUTE. EXPECT SNOW SHOWERS TO
CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT AS COLDER AIR FILTERS IN FROM THE
NORTHWEST.

TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF AROUND 1 INCH CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS
MAINLY HIGHER ELEVATIONS ABOVE 2000 FEET BORDERING VIRGINIA THROUGH
THE DAY MONDAY. AROUND A HALF OF AN INCH OR LESS CAN BE EXPECTED FOR
THE REMAINDER OF EASTERN KENTUCKY. A FEW BURSTS OF SNOW WILL BE
POSSIBLE DURING THIS EVENT...QUICKLY REDUCING VISIBILITIES AT TIMES.
ADDITIONALLY...FALLING TEMPERATURES MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO MONDAY
NIGHT...ALONG WITH ANY SNOW COVERED ROADS...WILL MAKE FOR HAZARDOUS
TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO AND LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS FOR
FURTHER DETAILS OR UPDATES.
