...VERY COLD TEMPERATURES AND SLICK ROADS POSSIBLE TONIGHT...

A LARGE RIDGE OF ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO SETTLE OVER
THE REGION TONIGHT. AS IT DOES...FRIGID ARCTIC AIR WILL POUR INTO
EASTERN KENTUCKY. THIS COLD AIR WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO FALL
INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA AND PERHAPS EVEN
JUST BELOW ZERO IN OUR FAR NORTH. AS THE TEMPERATURES DROP
OVERNIGHT...AREA ROADWAYS THAT BECAME WET TODAY DUE TO SNOW MELT
WILL REFREEZE...LEADING TO SLICK CONDITIONS FOR THE MORNING
COMMUTE ON TUESDAY. BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES WILL BE PARTICULARLY
VULNERABLE TO FREEZING.

MOTORISTS WILL NEED TO EXERCISE CAUTION LATE TONIGHT AND ON
TUESDAY MORNING AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES
IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD SNOW NORTH INTO SOUTHEASTERN KY LATE
TONIGHT. THE SNOW WOULD ARRIVE FIRST AT LOCATIONS NEAR THE
VIRGINIA BORDER. A DUSTING TO AN INCH OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE BY
SUNRISE IN THIS AREA.

THE SNOW WILL SPREAD FURTHER TO THE NORTH ON TUESDAY MORNING...
BEFORE EXITING THE REGION AROUND MIDDAY ON TUESDAY. THE CHANCES
FOR SNOW ARE GREATEST SOUTH OF A STEARNS TO LONDON TO HAZARD TO
PIKEVILLE LINE. A DUSTING TO AROUND AN INCH IS POSSIBLE ON TUESDAY.

ALSO...AS THE TEMPERATURES DROP OVERNIGHT...AREA ROADWAYS THAT
BECAME WET ON MONDAY DUE TO SNOW MELT WILL REFREEZE...LEADING TO
ICY CONDITIONS IN SOME AREAS FOR THE MORNING COMMUTE ON TUESDAY.
BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES WILL BE PARTICULARLY VULNERABLE TO
FREEZING.
