...LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE MONDAY INTO TUESDAY...

A STORM SYSTEM TRACKING ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES IS
EXPECTED TO INITIALLY BRING RAIN TO THE AREA THROUGH TONIGHT.
HOWEVER...COLD AIR WILL WORK INTO THE REGION FROM NORTHWEST TO
SOUTHEAST MONDAY MORNING...CHANGING THE RAIN OVER TO SNOW. RIDGETOPS
IN SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY...MAINLY ABOVE 2000 FEET COULD SEE 1 TO 4
INCHES OF SNOW BY TUESDAY MORNING. ELSEWHERE...SNOW ACCUMULATION UP
TO AN INCH IS POSSIBLE.

ON MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT...THE COLDEST AIR MASS SO FAR THIS
FALL...AND MORE TYPICAL OF JANUARY...WILL INVADE THE REGION.
TEMPERATURES WILL HOLD STEADY OR FALL THROUGH THE DAY MONDAY.
THEN...LOW TEMPERATURES MONDAY NIGHT ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE
TEENS...WITH TEMPERATURES STRUGGLING TO REACH THE LOW AND MID 20S IN
MOST LOCATIONS ON TUESDAY. TUESDAY NIGHT WILL REMAIN COLD AS HIGH
PRESSURE MOVES OVERHEAD...WITH TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO BOTTOM OUT
AROUND 10 DEGREES IN THE NORMALLY COLDER VALLEY LOCATIONS...AND IN
THE TEENS ELSEWHERE. TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO BE AT OR COLDER
THAN RECORD VALUES DURING THIS TIME...OR ROUGHLY 20 TO 30 DEGREES
BELOW NORMAL. WIND CHILL VALUES IN THE SINGLE DIGITS CAN BE EXPECTED
FROM MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT.
