...ACCUMULATING SNOW ACROSS PARTS OF THE KY CUMBERLAND MOUNTAINS...

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKING ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN STATES AND
THEN UP THE EASTERN SEABOARD WILL BRING A TRANSITION OF PRECIPITATION
FROM RAIN TO SNOW...FIRST AT ELEVATIONS AT AND ABOVE 2000 FEET. THE
RAIN SHOULD CHANGE TO ALL SNOW IN THE VALLEYS PRIOR TO DAWN. THE
HEAVIEST ACCUMULATIONS SHOULD OCCUR AT AND ABOVE 3000 FEET.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT
TO 11 AM EST SATURDAY.

* TIMING...RAIN WILL BEGIN TO CHANGE TO SNOW ABOVE 3000 FEET AROUND
  OR SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT. SNOW LEVELS WILL GRADUALLY DESCEND TO
  THE VALLEYS THROUGH DAWN. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF AND END DURING
  THE MORNING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...GENERALLY AN INCH OR LESS BELOW 2000 FEET AND ONE
  TO THREE INCHES AT 2000 FEET AND ABOVE. THE HIGHEST ACCUMULATIONS
  SHOULD OCCUR ABOVE 3000 FEET.

* IMPACTS...ROADS...BRIDGES...OVERPASSES AND WALKWAYS WILL BECOME
  SLUSHY OR SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY
  SATURDAY.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL
CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED
