The weather pattern over the next several days indicates a trend for
afternoon and nocturnal thunderstorms across the southeast half of the
Missouri River Basin, mainly across Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri
and South Dakota. While it is hard to pinpoint where rainfall will
be heaviest, any location in this part of the basin could receive
moderate to heavy rain. We will be monitoring the activity and
QPF to adjust staffing as needed.

In the short term, the following flood forecasts have been issued:
Pipestem Creek near Pingree, ND
Blackwater River near Blue Lick, MO

Longer term flooding is expected on the James River in South Dakota
near Columbia, Stratford, and Ashton.
