...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM CDT THIS
EVENING...
...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 PM
CDT THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

.Critical fire weather conditions are expected today across
forecast zones 204, 206, and 208 for a combination of low
relative humidity, gusty southerly winds, and the threat for
dry lightning. A cold front will approach southern South Dakota
this afternoon. South of the front, gusty southerly winds and
hot temperatures over 100 degrees are expected. Minimum relative
humidity will fall off to 15 to 20 percent this afternoon. As the
front approaches far northern Nebraska late this afternoon,
isolated thunderstorms are possible with dry lightning. As the
front passes, winds will shift to the north, then northeast.
