.NOW...

At 630 AM CST/530 AM MST/, Doppler radar indicated the leading edge
of an area of light snow along a line extending from near Comstock
to 17 miles southeast of Whitman. The snow was nearly stationary.

Snowfall rates of up to 1/4 inch per hour are likely around
Thedford...Stapleton...Dunning...Broken Bow and Taylor. This snow
was diminishing in intensity and should continue to diminish this
morning. The snow was ending near Valentine east to Springview and
the snow should end from north to south this morning. Light snow or
flurries was underway elsewhere across Western and North Central
Nebraska with accumulations of less than 1/4 inch per hour.

Blowing snow will continue with winds gusting to 40 mph east of
Highway 83. This will reduce visibility to less than 100 yards in
spots. Heavy drifting has occurred across the Sandhills and is
expected to continue this morning. Some roads may be blocked by
snow drifts...especially sand roads. The strong winds should
diminish from west to east this morning.

All of this snow was part of a major winter storm which has produced
up to 14 inches of snow across parts of Western and North Central
Nebraska.
