.NOW...

At 723 PM CDT/623 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms
from near Wewela to 24 miles northeast of Whitman to 18 miles
northwest of Arthur, moving east at 25 mph.

Early this evening...a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect.
Thunderstorms could become severe and produce very large hail and
wind gusts to 80 mph. This would be most likely across Keya Paha
County. Otherwise, up to 2 inches of rainfall, small hail and gusty
winds to around 45 mph are possible with the thunderstorms.

Locations impacted include...
Valentine, Ainsworth, Mullen, Springview, Hyannis, Johnstown,
Brownlee, Merritt Reservoir, Valentine National Wildlife Refuge,
Whitman, Norden, Ashby, Wood Lake, Burton, Dipping Vat Meadow,
Intersection of Highway 61 and Survey Valley Road, Thomas Creek State
Wildlife Management Area, Marsh Flat, Pine Glen State Wildlife Refuge
and Antelope Peak.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 183 between mile markers 199 and 225.
 Highway 20 between mile markers 193 and 242.
 Highway 2 between mile markers 134 and 194.
 Highway 61 between mile markers 139 and 202.
 Highway 97 between mile markers 57 and 141.
 Highway 83 between mile markers 164 and 215.
 Highway 12 between mile markers 1 and 5, and between mile markers 11
and 81.
