.NOW...

At 655 PM CDT/555 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated scattered
thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles south of Millboro
to 13 miles east of Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge, moving
northeast at 20 mph.

Early this evening...a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect.
Thunderstorms could become severe and produce very large hail and
wind gusts to 80 mph. This would be most likely across Keya Paha
County. Otherwise, 1/2 inch of rainfall, small hail and gusty winds
to around 45 mph are possible with the thunderstorms.

Locations impacted include...
Valentine, Springview, Hyannis, Merritt Reservoir, Valentine National
Wildlife Refuge, Whitman, Norden, Ashby, Wood Lake, Burton, Big Hill,
Dipping Vat Meadow, Billys Lake, Intersection of Highway 61 and
Survey Valley Road, Marsh Flat, Highway 97 crossing the Niobrara
River, Indian Hill, Whitman Road crossing the North Branch of the
Middle Loup River, Pratt Lake and Sevenmile Hill.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 183 between mile markers 212 and 225.
 Highway 20 between mile markers 188 and 227.
 Highway 2 between mile markers 120 and 178.
 Highway 61 between mile markers 138 and 200.
 Highway 97 between mile markers 72 and 141.
 Highway 83 between mile markers 177 and 219.
 Highway 12 between mile markers 1 and 62.
