...March temperatures were well above normal at North Platte
and Valentine while precipitation was above normal for North
Platte and below normal for Valentine...

For North Platte, the average daily mean temperature for the month
of March was 43.8 degrees and was 5.8 degrees above the normal of
38.0 degrees. March 2017 will go down as the ninth warmest on
record for North Platte. The average daily high temperature for the
month was 59.4 degrees which was 6.9 degrees above the normal of
52.5 degrees. The average daily low temperature was 28.2 degrees
which was 4.7 degrees above the normal of 23.5 degrees. One daily
temperature record was set for the month of March in North Platte.
On the 19th, the high temperature was 90 degrees breaking the record
of 86 degrees set previously in 2004. It was also the second warmest
temperature ever recorded in North Platte in March. The warmest
March temperature ever recorded 91 degrees set on March 16th, 2015.

For Valentine, the average daily mean temperature for the month of
March was 40.1 degrees which was 3.9 degrees above the normal of
36.2 degrees. The average daily high temperature for March was
53.7 degrees which was 4.4 degrees above the normal of 49.3 degrees.
The average daily low temperature for the month was 26.5 degrees
which was 3.4 degrees above the normal of 23.1 degrees. No daily record
temperatures were set during the month of March in Valentine.

At Lee Bird Field in North Platte, precipitation for March
totaled 1.82 inches which was 0.77 inches above the normal of 1.05
inches. No daily precipitation records were set during the month of
March for North Platte. For the month, a trace of snowfall
occurred which was 4.4 inches below the normal of 4.4 inches. No daily
snowfall records were set in March for North Platte.

At Miller field in Valentine, precipitation for March totaled
0.76 inches which was 0.31 inches below the normal of 1.07 inches.
No daily precipitation records were set during the month of March
for Valentine. Snowfall for the month totaled 2.0 inches and was 4.5
inches below the normal of 6.5 inches. No daily snowfall records
were set during the month of March for Valentine.
