...April temperatures were above normal at North Platte
and Valentine while precipitation was near normal for North
Platte and below normal for Valentine...

For North Platte, the average daily mean temperature for the month
of April was 50.8 degrees and was 3.2 degrees above the normal of
47.6 degrees. The average daily high temperature for the
month was 64.6 degrees which was 2.4 degrees above the normal of
62.2 degrees. The average daily low temperature was 37.0 degrees
which was 4.0 degrees above the normal of 33.0 degrees. One daily
temperature record was set for the month of April in North Platte.
On the 14th, the low temperature at North Platte was 54 degrees.
This broke the record for the highest low temperature ever recorded
on the 14th of April in North Platte. The previous record was 53
degrees set in 1915.

For Valentine, the average daily mean temperature for the month of
April was 49.5 degrees which was 2.8 degrees above the normal of
46.7 degrees. The average daily high temperature for April was
63.2 degrees which was 2.9 degrees above the normal of 60.3 degrees.
The average daily low temperature for the month was 35.8 degrees
which was 2.8 degrees above the normal of 33.0 degrees. Two daily
temperature records were sent during the month of April in Valentine.
On the 8th, the low at Miller Field was 49 degrees breaking the
record for warmest low temperature on that date. The previous record
was 46 degrees set in 1969 and 1945. On the 27th, the low in Valentine
was 21 degrees which tied the record low for that date which was also
set in 1950.

At Lee Bird Field in North Platte, precipitation for April
totaled 2.23 inches which was 0.04 inches below the normal of 2.27
inches. No daily precipitation records were set during the month of
April for North Platte. For the month, 1.0 inches of snowfall
occurred which was 2.2 inches below the normal of 3.2 inches. No daily
snowfall records were set in April for North Platte.

At Miller field in Valentine, precipitation for April totaled
1.36 inches which was 0.86 inches below the normal of 2.22 inches.
No daily precipitation records were set during the month of April
for Valentine. Snowfall for the month totaled 0.7 inches and was 3.9
inches below the normal of 4.6 inches. No daily snowfall records
were set during the month of April for Valentine.
