...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR TORNADO EVENT NEAR ATKINSON NEBRASKA...

.OVERVIEW...A low pressure system and associated cold front swept
through western and central Nebraska causing afternoon showers and
thunderstorms to develop over Holt County...by mid-afternoon a couple
of these storms became severe. A storm over Holt County rapidly
developed and formed a landspout tornado that caused some light damage
to a shed and tractor just north of Atkinson Nebraska.

Brief touchdown lofted a rock into a tractor windshield causing it
to shatter. The circulation, also witnessed by someone in town who
saw the dust swirl, also caused some minor damage to the outside of
a machine shed located near the tractor before the tornado went into
the neighboring alfalfa field and lifted.
