946 WGUS85 KABQ 051920 FLSABQ Flood Advisory National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 120 PM MDT Sun May 5 2024 ...The National Weather Service in Albuquerque NM has issued a Flood Advisory for the following rivers in New Mexico... Rio Chama Below Abiquiu Dam affecting Rio Arriba County. .Snow melt and increased reservoir releases will cause the river flows to become high. Expect minor flooding downstream from the dam. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternative route. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Approximately 1460 cfs. Houses near Highway 84 along river will see water begin to encroach their yards. Cattle that cross the river at lower flows may be trapped on one side or the other.
