.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Relative humidity stays fairly
elevated today (> 35%) with the exception of the portions of south
Park. Winds will be light on the plains and marginally breezy in
parts of the mountains. Smoke dispersal will be good for the west
slope areas and poor over the Front Range and eastward.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday through Thursday...The warming and
drying trend will continue Monday with increasing winds and a
frontal passage in the afternoon. With warm and dry conditions,
elevated fire weather conditions will likely develop in southern
Lincoln County, but winds will be marginal. Elsewhere, gusty winds
will be more prominent, but recent precipitation and greenup will
help keep fuels from being susceptible to fire spread.
Elevated fire weather conditions will be possible again Wednesday
afternoon for portions of South Park, the Palmer Divide, and
eastern plains where southerly winds increase and humidities drop
into the 15-20% range. Thursday may also see elevated fire weather
concerns in those same areas.
