.DISCUSSION...
A broad upper trough persisted across the west today with a cool
northerly flow aloft. Lingering low level moisture provided some
scattered stratocumulus clouds as temperatures topped out around
7 to 10 degrees below climatological normals for this time of the
year. An upper ridge over the Eastern Pacific will begin to build
inland today and push temperatures to near normal this afternoon.
Further warming will lift maximum temperatures to several degrees
above normal on Wednesday. By Thursday, highs are forecast to be
around 7 to 12 degrees above normal for this time of year. Little
changes are forecast Friday through the weekend. No precipitation
is expected for at least the next seven days as a relatively dry
airmass prevails. Here are probabilities for a high temperature
of 83 degrees or higher for locations in the San Joaquin Valley.
