Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
253 AM CDT Fri Apr 19 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Friday will be a poor burning day due to showers and storms moving
through the region along and ahead of an approaching cold front.
Behind the front, transport winds from the north reach 10-20 mph
with mixing heights peaking over 3000 ft AGL, creating more
favorable burning conditions if fuels can dry from the rain.
Scattered showers move in Saturday afternoon, so the window would
be brief in the morning. Rain would stick around through late
Sunday.

Fog potential over the next few days: Low chance of patchy fog in
sheltered valleys in Northeast AL this morning behind early
morning showers

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None
