347 WGUS81 KILN 180110 FLSILN Flood Advisory National Weather Service Wilmington OH 910 PM EDT Fri May 17 2024 OHC131-145-180345- /O.NEW.KILN.FA.Y.0056.240518T0110Z-240518T0345Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Pike OH-Scioto OH- 910 PM EDT Fri May 17 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...The following counties, in south central Ohio, Pike and Scioto. * WHEN...Until 1145 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 910 PM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Portsmouth, Lucasville, Clarktown, Rosemount, Beaver, Minford, State Route 335 at State Route 776, Portsmouth Regional Airport, Mcdermott, Stockdale, Bear Creek, Germany and West Portsmouth. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
