Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
326 AM CDT Mon May 6 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Scattered showers will occur southeast of a Bloomington to
Jacksonville line today...with the best rain chances focused
along/south of I-70. A line of thunderstorms will develop in the
Plains later today, then push into west-central Illinois late
tonight. The storms will continue eastward across the remainder of
the area Tuesday morning before exiting into Indiana. Once the
storms pass, rising mixing heights and gusty southwesterly winds
will lead to very good ventilation rates by Tuesday afternoon.
