...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN CAMERON...WESTERN
JEFFERSON DAVIS AND EASTERN CALCASIEU PARISHES THROUGH 1045 AM CDT...

At 957 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Lake Charles Regional Airport, moving southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Lake Charles, Sulphur, Cameron, Westlake, Iowa, Fenton, Grand Lake,
Hayes, Moss Bluff, Johnsons Bayou, Lake Charles Regional Airport,
Sabine National Wildlife, Grand Chenier, Hacketts Corner, Topsy,
Lebleu Settlement, Gillis, Holly Beach, Sweet Lake, and Carlyss.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 19 and 49.
 Interstate 210 between mile markers 1 and 12.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
