OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Relatively light westerly winds are expected today, becoming
variable into tonight as high pressure builds across the Lake.
Breezy south winds will then develop Monday, shifting westerly
into Tuesday afternoon as low pressure of 29.5 inches approaches
the northern Great Lakes from Saskatchewan and Manitoba and passes
to the north. Winds could approach gale force during this time.
Winds shift to northerly Tuesday night as the low passes eastward
and a cold front moves down the lake. Northerly gales will be
possible behind the front.

.TONIGHT...Southwest winds 10 to 15 kt becoming west 5 to 10 kt.
Waves 1 to 2 ft.
.MONDAY...Southwest winds 5 to 10 kt becoming south 15 to 25 kt.
Waves 1 to 3 ft building to 3 to 5 ft.
.MONDAY NIGHT...South winds 15 to 25 kt becoming southwest gales
to 35 kt overnight. Chance of showers in the evening, then
showers overnight. Waves 4 to 6 ft occasionally to 8 ft building
to 7 to 10 ft occasionally to 13 ft.
.TUESDAY...Southwest gales to 35 kt diminishing to 10 to 20 kt in
the afternoon. Chance of showers in the morning, then showers in
the afternoon. Waves 7 to 10 ft occasionally to 13 ft subsiding
to 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft.
.TUESDAY NIGHT...Northwest gales to 35 kt becoming north. Chance
of rain showers. Waves 6 to 9 ft occasionally to 12 ft building
to 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft.
.WEDNESDAY...North winds to 30 kt diminishing to 10 to 20 kt.
Waves 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft subsiding to 6 to 9 ft
occasionally to 12 ft.
.THURSDAY...Southeast winds 10 to 15 kt. Waves 1 to 3 ft.

subsiding to 1 to 2 ft.
.MONDAY...South winds 10 to 20 kt increasing to 30 kt. Waves 1 to
3 ft building to 4 to 6 ft occasionally to 8 ft.
.MONDAY NIGHT...South winds to 30 kt increasing to gales to
35 kt. Rain showers likely in the evening, then rain showers
overnight. Waves 6 to 9 ft occasionally to 12 ft.
.TUESDAY...Southwest winds to 30 kt becoming west. Rain showers
in the morning, then chance of rain showers in the afternoon.
Waves 6 to 9 ft occasionally to 12 ft subsiding to 4 to 6 ft
occasionally to 8 ft.
.TUESDAY NIGHT...North winds to 30 kt increasing to gales to
35 kt. Waves 6 to 9 ft occasionally to 12 ft building to 8 to
11 ft occasionally to 14 ft.
