An EF1 tornado struck Clinton County on the evening of October 6,

          Date: Oct 6 2014

      EF Scale: 1
    Wind Speed: 105 mph

   Path Length: 2.3 miles
    Path Width: 150 yards

      Injuries: 0
    Fatalities: 0

    Start Time: 6:13 PM CDT
Start Location: 11.4 miles NNW of Albany
 Start Lat/Lon: 36.8477/-85.2025

      End Time: 6:17 PM CDT
  End Location: 11.1 miles north of Albany
   End Lat/Lon: 36.8505/-85.1606

Narrative: Numerous snapped and uprooted trees in a skipping pattern
over the path of the tornado. The only non-tree damage occurred to
power poles on the west side of Route 127. A couple in a vehicle on
127 when the tornado hit was trapped when trees fell across the
highway both north and south of them. They had to wait until road
crews removed the trees to drive on. Three thousand dollars in
property damage.

There was 11 minutes of lead time with this tornado.  In other
words, the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for
this storm 11 minutes before the tornado touched down.

The National Weather Service is thankful to Clinton and Cumberland
County Emergency Management Services for their assistance with our
storm damage assessment.

EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the
following categories:

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 MPH
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 MPH
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 MPH
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 MPH
EF4...Violent...166 to 200 MPH
EF5...Violent...>200 MPH
