...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT NORTHEASTERN MERCER...SOUTHERN
WOODFORD...NORTHERN JESSAMINE AND FAYETTE COUNTIES...

At 930 PM EST, a strong thunderstorm was located 9 miles west of
Nicholasville, moving northeast at 50 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Lexington, Nicholasville, Meadowthorpe, Dunbar High School,
Thoroughbred Acres, Cardinal Hill, Cadentown, Northland, Highlands
and Fayette Mall.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 200 AM EST for
central Kentucky.
