...SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN IN SOUTHERN
KENTUCKY...

At 522 PM EDT/422 PM CDT/, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from near Cains Store to 8 miles
southwest of Columbia to 11 miles west of Tompkinsville. Movement was
east at 10 mph.

Very slow-moving thunderstorms with heavy rain are affecting
portions of south-central Kentucky. In particular, a cluster of
thunderstorms was located across Adair County. Radar estimates 1.4
to 1.8 inches of rain may have fallen in a localized area in
northeast Adair County, near the Russell County line.

If these slow-moving storms move over the same areas multiple times,
localized flooding is likely in poor drainage areas. Use caution,
and NEVER attempt to drive through standing water.

Locations impacted include...
Columbia, Tompkinsville, Jamestown, Edmonton, Russell Springs,
Gamaliel, Fountain Run, Eli, Cundiff and Curtis.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may
cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
