...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM EDT
FOR EASTERN STOKES...WESTERN ROCKINGHAM...SOUTHWESTERN HENRY AND
SOUTHEASTERN PATRICK COUNTIES...

At 844 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Penns Store to near Mayodan to near Pine Hall, moving
east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Mayodan...
Madison...
Walnut Cove...
Stoneville...
Spencer...
Sandy Ridge...
and Ridgeway.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for north central
and northwestern North Carolina...and south central, southwestern and
west central Virginia.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

Prepare immediately for DAMAGING WINDS. For your safety, move to an
interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away
from windows.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of hail of any
size, as well as reports of any wind damage, including downed trees
or large limbs, to the National Weather Service by calling toll free
