...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northern California, including the following
  counties, Shasta and Tehama.

* WHEN...Until 1000 PM PDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 549 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding.
  - Thunderstorms are training in an area between Cottonwood and
    Anderson and will cause flooding over the next several hours.
    Radar estimates 1 to 1.5 inches of rain has fallen over the
    past 2 hours.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Redding, Palo Cedro, Anderson, Olinda, Millville and
    Cottonwood.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
