AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION FOR AMERICAN SAMOA AND INDEPENDENT SAMOA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PAGO PAGO AS
212 PM SST SUN APR 20 2014

.SHORT TERM...
TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT...SATELLITE IMAGERIES SHOW A LOW
LEVEL CONVERGENCE OSCILLATING OVER THE ISLANDS. RAOB FROM THIS
AFTERNOON DEPICTS A STABLE PROFILE. MODELS ARE ONCE AGAIN CHANGING
THEIR PREDICTIONS TO A MORE STABLE WEATHER PATTERN OVER THE
ISLANDS IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. A HIGH TO THE SOUTH IS SLOWLY MOVING
EAST WHILE THE CONVERGENCE WILL REMAIN NEARLY STATIONARY WITH
MINIMUM SHOWERS. THEREFORE...WILL ONCE AGAIN CHANGE THE PREVIOUS
FCST TO REFLECT THE NEW MODEL OUTLOOK.

.LONG TERM...
WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...THE CONVERGENCE WILL SINK SOUTH ON
WEDNESDAY WHILE A TROUGH TOPPLES ACROSS THE ISLANDS. THE TROUGH
IS EXPECTED TO BRING SCATTERED SHOWERS AND VARIABLE WINDS FOR THE
REST OF THE LONG TERM. THEREFORE...NO CHANGES TO THE PREVIOUS
FCST.

&&

.MARINE...
NO SIGNIFICANT SWELLS ARE EXPECTED TO IMPACT COASTAL WATERS AND
SHORELINES IN THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.

&&

.PPG WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
NONE.
