...DAMAGING WARNING LEVEL SURF WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE
CENTRAL COAST...

...HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT WEST AND NORTHWEST FACING BEACHES
SOUTH OF POINT CONCEPTION THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...

.Damaging warning level surf of 15 to 20 feet with local sets to
25 feet will affect west and northwest facing beaches of the
Central Coast today, then surf will slowly subside tonight and
Saturday. The large breaking waves could produce some minor
coastal flooding, mainly of parking lots, especially near the
times of high tides through Saturday.

On west facing beaches south of Point Conception, high surf of
8 to 12 feet is expected today, then surf will slowly subside
tonight and Saturday. Local sets to 15 feet are possible today
on exposed west facing locations such as Ventura Harbor.

...HIGH SURF WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PST SATURDAY...

* SURF AND TIMING...Surf is expected average 15 to 20 feet today
  with local sets to 25 feet are possible. High surf will slowly
  subside tonight through Saturday evening.

* Impacts...Very large, dangerous and damaging waves with strong
  currents will create an increased risk of drownings. Sneaker
  waves can suddenly wash over previously dry beaches and jetties.
  There will be also a high risk of life-threatening rip currents.
  There is an increased threat of beach erosion and local
  flooding of low lying areas such as beach parking lots.
  Dangerous breaking waves are expected in and around Morro Bay
  Harbor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Warning indicates that dangerous, battering waves
will pound the shoreline. This will result in life-threatening
conditions.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PST SATURDAY...

* SURF AND TIMING...Surf is expected to average 8 to 12 feet today
  and early tonight. Sets to 15 feet are possible at exposed
  locations such as Ventura Pier. High surf will slowly subside
  late tonight through Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...Large, powerful, and dangerous waves with strong
  currents will create an increased risk in drownings. Sneaker
  waves can suddenly wash over previously dry beaches and
  jetties. There will be also a high risk of life-threatening
  rip currents. Damaging breaking waves are possible near the
  entrance of the Ventura Harbor. Local flooding of low lying
  beach parking lots will be possible with the high surf.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area, producing localized beach erosion and
very dangerous rip currents. Going into the ocean is highly
discouraged, even for experienced swimmers and surfers.
If caught in a rip current, don`t swim against the current. Swim
in a direction following the shoreline until you are able to break
free of it.

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY
EVENING...

* HAZARDS...Surf of 4 to 6 feet is expected on west facing beaches
  through Saturday evening. Local sets to 8 feet are possible
  near Rincon Point.

* IMPACTS...There is an increased risk for drowning. Rip
  currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large
  breaking waves can wash people off beaches and rocks...and
  capsize small boats near shore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Beach Hazards Statement is issued when threats such as rip
currents...longshore currents...sneaker waves and other hazards
create life-threatening conditions in the surf zone. Swim near a
lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t
swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following
the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or
wave for help.
